Our  polytechnic college was started during the year 1985-86 as per  GO.MS NO: 1344  Education department dated: 12-10-1984  with the following three courses for providing better Technical education to the sons & daughters  of the cane grower members and  employees of   Dharmapuri  District co-op sugar mills  and also the  public with total First year  in take  of  180 students in each course under self financing category   


1. Civil  Engineering
2.  Mechanical Engineering
3. Electronics & Communication Engineering
Subsequently  the following courses were started
1. Electrical &Electronics Engineering              During the year  2003-2004
2.  Mechanical (Tool& Die) Engineering          During the year  2004-2005
3.  Electronics & Communication Engineering  Unit II     During the year  2007-2008
4.  Mechanical  Engineering     Unit II               During the year  2012-2013

Totally 420 in take  in first year   up to  the year 2017-18 

Tamil  Nadu  Government   converted    DDCSM Polytechnic college in to GOVERNMENT Polytechnic college as per the  GO .MS.NO 26  /Higher Education (B2) Dept. With following courses    with First year intake of  360 per year
1. Civil  Engineering
2. Mechanical Engineering
3 .Electrical &Electronics Engineering              
4. Electronics & Communication Engineering
5. Mechanical (Tool& Die) Engineering          
Mandate
A recognised Institute by AICTE.
•    Is to offer diploma courses in engineering on fulltime basis tomeBoys &Girls students selected according to state government norms.
•    The institute is to establish close links with local industries and community by offering them training and other services.
ACCREDITATION STATUS
•     Not applied for accreditation by NBA
